LAUNDRY HELP · REPAIR ADVICE

Washing machine won’t spin?

The details that help distinguish a spin fault from a drainage or locking problem.

Is there still water in the drum?

A machine holding water may be unable to begin its normal spin stage. Note whether the programme stops with water inside, whether you hear a pump and whether an error code appears. These are clues for an assessment, rather than proof that one particular part needs replacement.

Describe the point where it stops

Does the machine fill and wash, then stop? Does it lock the door and do nothing? Does the drum move slowly but never reach spin speed? A short description of the sequence is more useful than saying only that the machine is broken.

Pause if there is noise or leaking

Do not run repeated cycles if the appliance is leaking, grinding or moving violently. Keep clear of water around electrical equipment. A door that stays locked should not be forced open; trapped water and hot contents can create additional risks.

Use your manual for basic checks

An overloaded or unbalanced load can interrupt some programmes, but every model behaves differently. Follow the user-accessible checks in your manufacturer’s manual. Avoid opening panels, bypassing the door lock or reaching into the machine.

Decide after assessment

A spin problem does not automatically mean the motor is finished. Drainage, door locking, drive and electronic control faults need to be distinguished. Share the model and error code, then compare the quote with the condition of the appliance.

Keep it safe.

These guides help you describe a fault and prepare a booking. For model-specific care, use the manufacturer’s manual. Leave internal electrical, mechanical and refrigeration work to an appropriate technician.
